Growing up in the 90’s, there wasn’t a lot of good going on in Chicago as far as sports teams go; the Bears losing ways started, unless you went to the Blackhawks games you didn’t know who they were, the Cubs maintained their “lovable losers” status, and the Sox were the forgotten south siders.  However, the Bulls and Michael Jordan made up for all the other teams in Chicago!

For those who lived under a rock in the 1990’s, The Chicago Bulls had two 3-peat Championships led by the GOAT Michael Jordan.  After Jordan retired from the Bulls, they have not been the same.  Sure fans had some hope when Derrick Rose came to the Bulls in 2008, but it still wasn’t the same and most likely never will be.  The Bulls have yet to make it back in the NBA Finals.  Currently, they are sitting in fourth place in the Division, 10 games behind first place Cleveland, ninth in the Eastern Conference, and three games from .500.

The Bulls played against the first place Timberwolves Tuesday night, February 6th.  With no hope in the Bulls winning the game, and being down 69-47, fans quickly lost hope.  However, there was one shining star for fans who were watching. Who you ask?  The Color Analyst Stacey King! King played for the Chicago Bulls from ’89-’94, earning three of the first six rings they would end up winning.   King was along side the Play-By-Play Analyst Adam Amin.  But King’s enthusiasm and one-liners had fans laughing and genuinely enjoying the game.

Even when watching a terrible performance from another sports team, fans never enjoy it, but listening to King kept fans intrigued.  King’s performance almost outweighed the Bulls come back from a 22 point deficient at half to end up winning the game in overtime.  It did help with Coby White who only scored three points in the first half ended up scoring 30 in the second half.  Seven shots were good from far behind the three-point line, and one according to King, was “from Rockford”.

It was great to see the Bulls come back and win in OT.  It got fans excited and “dancing” like White “with his dancing shoes on” King said near the end of the 4th quarter as White hit another three-pointer.  There are only a few games left, before the NBA All-Star break, but if King will be commentating, along side Adam Amin who also did a great job, fans will defiantly be watching win or lose!  It will not be a loss, ever, if Stacey King keeps bring those one-liners!
